Of course these rainbows showed themselves at a time when I was in a horrible location to photograph them, so I hurried to the fields to try to get a better shot. By the time we got out to the fields the rainbows had gone and it had got very dark and begun to rain.
I gathered up my nettle, hawthorn, and blackberry leaf, in the pouring rain, with my partner glowering at me, we had just turned to go home when the sun came out and the beautiful rainbow below appeared right over the forest.
It was so big it wouldn't fit into the camera frame, and by the time I had got far enough back to see the whole thing it had been swallowed up by clouds. See photo below, which shows it just showing from out of the clouds.
The rainbow put my partner in a much better mood, after getting wet gathering the medicinal plants, and I got all of the things that I needed, plus a half decent shot of a rainbow too. The picture below shows some of my blackberry leaves, these bundles will now be hung up and dried to use later in the year for teas.
